REAL ESTATE/CORPORATEThe Real Estate/Corporate aspect of our practice includes assisting our clients in all aspects areas of residential, commercial and industrial real estate acquisition and development, including project planning, finance, governmental processing and compliance, construction, and the sale or leasing of the completed product. With respect to these matters, the firm assists clients in the negotiation and preparation of construction, interim and permanent loan documentation. When the need arises, the firm assists its clients with the workout of troubled loans, the preparation of forbearance agreements, and the handling of all trustee sale matters. The firm also has attorneys experienced in the areas of corporate, limited liability company and partnership law; and various land title and land use issues. LITIGATIONThe Litigation aspect of our practice encompasses a broad range of real estate and business disputes. We are currently serving a significant commercial litigation clientele that includes several of the State's largest financial institutions. Our litigation attorneys have expertise in the areas of lending and title insurance-related litigation, as well as lender liability issues, construction defect claims, mechanics' lien and stop notice claims, loan workouts, judicial foreclosures and receiverships, corporate and partnership dissolution and accounting, unlawful detainer actions, escrow practice, industrial and commercial brokerage issues and homeowner association litigation. Our litigation attorneys also have expertise in litigating matters against various federal, state, and municipal governmental entities. We have negotiated and litigated claims before the State's business regulatory agencies on behalf of financial institutions which have ranged from anti-discrimination issues, to healthcare and CERCLA claims. The firm's attorneys are experienced in environmental issues, including the resolution of hazardous waste and underground storage tank problems. The firm also prosecutes fraud-based claims in a variety of contexts, often on behalf of plaintiffs. We have represented large financial institutions in the private sector, especially in the area of lender liability issues. Our litigation attorneys have substantial experience in all phases of litigation, from commencement of the action through appeal, in state and federal courts, as well as in the handling of disputes before administrative agencies. When appropriate, our litigation attorneys will recommend alternative dispute resolution or arbitration.
